Old lamp

We have had this lamp thing around for a long time and have never paid any attention to it but I decided to look it up and found nothing. Any information would be greatly appreciated!

I kept looking at this and thinking it looks like a beer stein. So I googled beer stein lamp, and wow they are an actual thing.
