The handle is off a "sad iron" so at least you know it is early 20th C or older. One of the gun guys needs to comment on the bullet but it doesn't look that old to me.

What compelled you to hunt this place? Did you do any research?

How long did you hunt to find these two targets?

If you only hunted an hour, go back a hunt some more. If you were there for 6 hours, I'd bag it and go elsewhere.

The photo shows your bullet's body is encircled by what is called a "reeded" groove. "Reeded" refers to having multiple tiny parallel ridges (like the sides of a US dime or quarter). The first appearance of bullets with "reeded" body-grooves occurred within a year or so of 1880. So, that's the oldest your bullet could possibly be. Most likely your bullet is from the first half of the 20th-Century. That is (probably) older than you are, so I'd say yes, keep hunting that site. :)

I have sole access to about 300 acres of property and tried to research the area but was not able to find much info, other than it runs along the road "52" which existed back on the 1824 maps. I went back today and found a brooch after about an hour, again along the fence line. I have not tromped into the woods yet. This property used to be hunt club grounds until my company purchased it and made it a completely secure area. I would be willing to discuss in PM the area with someone who could help me identify a lot more detail about the area.

spent about 20 minutes and found these along the fence line, without going into the woods. Also found a few square nails / random small metal pieces. I am going to put the brooch in the ID page as well, which again took about an hour, and was almost very close to underneath a very large tree stump
