Friday after work I went to an old football field nearby that I have been wanting to hunt for some time now. I have hunted the baseball field next to it and have found a lot of clad quarters and dimes. I called the Rec Dept to see if they knew how old the field was. He did not know exactly but said when he was in school they used it for band practice. The end of the field still has the old scoreboard with the clock timer still on it. The grandstands are gone which makes the place look even bigger. I started in the middle of the field was going to work towards the scoreboard. I found a few pieces there then decide to just go to the end as the heat and humidity was horrible. At the end of the field I was getting a lot of good signals. When the DFX says it is a quarter you can be certain it will be a quarter. The heat was really getting to me. I only was there an hour and a half and found a total of 27 coins of which was 11 quarters, 6 dimes, 6 nickels and 4 pennies. Also found a copper ring and a button snap. All coins were clad but one dime was close as it was 1965.
