Old Fishing Tackle

Some of them should have the following names on them: Heddon Basser, Heddon baby vamp (or junior, something to that effect), heddon river runt (could be spook sinker/floater or other words, just look for the river runt). Also, see if you can tell if some are wood, the river runts, that is. I know some are plastic, but hopefully some are wood. Check for paint cracking, or places where it is missing, and see if you can see wood underneath. I'm sure you know this, but don't damage the paint on them. Be sure to keep the punkinseed in good shape.

Nice grabs Packer:icon_thumright:.If you happen to find any info ive been looking for info on a reel I have. Its a Sterling and the only other mark on it is a number 1.Pretty small reel, you could almost drop it into the average size coffee cup.the only info I could find was one just like it thats in a museum and that one has a number 2 on it.

Have you got a picture Red James Cash? Is it a bait caster?

No Bassmaster no cam here,it passed on lol.And yup its a baitcaster.

:laughing7: Okay, that is fine. Any name on it at all?

Never mind, I saw that there was no name.

the only markings on it are on the part that holds it to the rod,it says STERLING then on the other end it says TRADE MARK with a fancy L or S in between the words trade mark. And i made a mistake its number 40 (where the hell did i get number 1 from):icon_scratch:

I fixed the link

That is odd. Not sure on it. I deal with lures mostly, not really old reels. It is neat though, and probably worth some.

I paid $30 for the three fishing rods and two reels. The 2 wooden rods will make nice wall decorations but the other rod with the pulleys I hope to put to use. The box of fly fishing gear I think I paid $25 for. I saw just one of the leader cans for sale on ebay asking $45. I gave that box to one of my sons that uses a flyrod once in a while. The guy has two big boxes I didn't even look into. The boxes are about 3 sq ft in size. One is marked misc spinning reels and the other is misc fly reels. I'm very open to selling this stuff but I need to do a little more research on what they are and a fair asking price. I don't want to misrepresent the items. I saw river runt, heddon etc on some of these lures. I'll get a few more details on them for you. It's kind of hard to tell if some are plastic or just good paint on wood. :)

It is hard to sell sometimes. Keep what you want to out of the other stuff. The lures will more than pay for it. Just get me more details on them and everything, and I'll help you represent them right. I'm off to the lake to go fishing. I'll see you guys Thursday.

I might be interested in buying or trading some very collectible lures with you if you like ... or maybe some jerky? :laughing7: I liked the frog looking lure.

here is a tip on telling wood from plastic --unscrew the rear treble hook holder screw look into the body if its wood colored its wood if its not most likely its plastic .:headbang:
