That knife is quite the puzzler. Anyone remember the Cargo Cults that sprang up during & after WW2? Airplanes brought wonderful things to remote islands, so the islanders built runways and whicker airplanes to try and draw the Cargo Plane Gods back with the wonderful treasures. Maybe someone carved that inscription because he admited the lettering on an airplane. I doubt it was in flight issue, but I've flown on airlines where it would be a possibility.

I think the "deity" is a Catholic saint. Mayans didn't have bronze, let alone iron or steel.

I think this knife was a cheap souvenir that was "personalized" by the buyer or seller - a memento from a very special trip at a time when international travel was not common.

Great Finds!,dont forget to check out the inside of Barns for objects!!!!!!...

Also i didnt see anyone mention this - your .22 bullet cache is DANGEROUS!!!!,The powder will become unstable after years underground "just like a Artty shell inwhich they find here and there from ww2",so i would dispose of them by reburying them with brass end up!!!!!!!!!!!!or take them to the local police for disposal...Its better than one getting knock in just the right place and then BANG!.....
Safe Than Sorry!!!!

I find alot around where they HOISTED the old hay bails and that to the second LvL of the barn,so be sure to check under them pully's!!!...
