Old Door Jam Plate??

Dug this out today and it was about 8" down. I'm thinking its an old plate off a door jam does anyone know different? Thanks

I also found this clear plastic brush with metal brissels (sp?) And a square nail. Not sure if any age on the brush. All 3 items were in the same hole.
