***OLD COMMERCIALS

Re: OLD COMMERCIALS

Dano, you caught it. Well everybody seams to be having a good time anyway. All the commercials today seam to use highly unnatural dancing and singing and they seam to be getting longer too! When you don't have anything better to do, time the commercial air time of a show. Some are as high as 30% now!!

Re: OLD COMMERCIALS

Ah Real, we had a profane take off on that in the country, 'You'll wonder where the fellow went, who wiped his a** with a peppermint'. And TexasTee, only your hairdresser knows for sure.

Re: OLD COMMERCIALS

Hey ma, he likes it.

Chex cereal, if I remember correctly.

Mikey ate LIFE cereal!!!! He was a cute kid!!!! :laughing9:

The boy who played Mikey in those commercials grew up to play the young Navy Ensign lawyer in that T.V. series with Catherine Bell and that overly handsome dude who was a lawyer / Tom Cat pilot. I think the series was called JAG. My favorite episode was the one with Catherine Bell's character wearing a bikini. HUMA, HUMA, HUMA. :hello2: :hello2: :laughing7:

Back in the day when the prize came in the box.

Re: OLD COMMERCIALS

Ajax...The foaming cleanser...It cleans the dirt...Right down the drain!!!
Eat Wheaties...The breakfast of champions!
Crackerjacks did it with toys in the box.
And here comes CAPTAIN..... MIDNITE....
You knew Kate Smith was coming on when you heard,"God Bless America"
Gabriel Heater opened, during WWII with either, Ah there's good news tonite or Ah there's bad news tonite.
Orson Wells Skipped the commercials during War of the worlds!!
Eat Oatmeat, The breakfast that sticks to your ribs!
It's Howdy Dudy time, Its Howdy Dudy time, Bob Smith and Howdy do say howdy do to you. {excuse the spilling spell check has it's limits}. Oh and Clarabell was a guy!

In a lot of the earlie TV shows, the opening lines were a commercial for the show!! You have to remember that they only had one commercial every 1/2 hour back in the beginning. I can even remember 4 sq. in. screens. they came out with a bubble to enlarge it. I can look back 73 years and my memory is still razor sharp, well for the old stuff anyway!

Re: OLD COMMERCIALS

TIMEX-"it takes a licking but keeps on ticking" the one with the elephant standing on the watch.
