Hunt here in southern Maryland lots of buttons,buckles,some Indian head pennies early 1900 wheats,religious pendant,old lock and key.this was 2differnt site.all the coins came from a different site we’re I found the lock
WOW, they're so many you must have been tripping over them!
 

Thanks all. No the key doesn't fit the lock.I was hoping it was the key for it.I think i could get the lock to work it still moves.Anyone no were i could get a key made for it. My wife put an app on my phone to track me in the woods.I walked 8 miles sat.Not much time to get cold.temps weren't to bad highs in the 40's.I would really like to get the lock working so if anyone knows how or were i could get a key send me a link thanks
 

The good part is this site is so remote there wasnt much trash other then a few shot gun shells here and there
 

On my brass type locks i use white vinegar and it seems to do a nice job cleaning. the ones i find made out of steel usually are in pretty tough shape !
