May be a copy coin based potin tetradrachm? DanB did you find this one metal detecting?

My first thought is copy based on the excellent condition and the lettering. But that is just a gut feeling. Hopefully someone will ID it for you. It may help to know where and how you obtained this.

I agree that a little more info is needed. Where did you get them, what are they made of and size for starters.

Can you post another pic of the obverse ('heads' side); with the same lighting--but this time set the lighting source 180 degrees from this first pic. Also can you place a penny into the scene for scale?

I am not sure of the metal content.....not magnetic.....looks kind of like a gold / bronze color.....and are real heavy...

They were cleaned with water, baking power and a tooth brush......there is considerable pitting on all the coins to some extent.
