Yes European, most likely a Jetton (Jeton), I'll need some time with a thick book to ID.

Got it!

Brass Jetton (Jeton, rechenfpennig) - Reckoning counter/token (used on exchequer boards to work out taxes etc)

The first picture is the image of the 'Lion of Saint Mark' standing left, nimbate & winged, holding book of the Gospels in right fore-paw with large halo projecting into margin & surmounted by a cross.
Legend reads: SANTVS:MARGGVS:NI
Second picture (reverse) would have shown:
Cross on Orb (known as treasure) with 3 pairs of annulets outside
HANS SCHVLTES NMOIN

Made by Hans Schultes II of Nuremberg, Germany between 1586-1603.

Should be circa 27mm. 8.78g

Why don't you buy some Krause books if you want to look up Ebay? coins.

that gets pretty pricey going that far back! LOL

Yes it does. I have the 1600s, 1700s, and 1800s. Buying used isn't too bad.
