Good job Sir. A nice show of respect.

Nice work Gare... :occasion14:

You mention it was made in 1836, but there is an 1821 marker. Was that just a marker for the persons memory, or was the Pvt. buried there?

Dizzydigger you are correct. He is buried there . John Beavers owned the land and built the cemetery . John Beavers has 2 Daughters buried there. One daughter was 3 years old. One of his daughters a town is named after her Minerva . Sorry for the confusion

Those stone walls amaze me . I would like to be able to find out how they was cut and what year they was put in ?

Great job once again cleaning up the cemetery again Gare. :headbang:
Sometimes the Townships just need a boot in the rear to get them moving on maintaining the plots.
First one has to find out if it's a private or public funded cemetery (up here it seems to be a thing)
Sometimes they seem to not have it on the radar and it has to be brought to their attention, and the responsibility of maintaining.

Great Job, Gare !!! I am working on one we found in the woods that is totally covered in brush. It has been untouched since 1970. We have war heroes from the War of 1812 and the Revolutionary War that have gone unnoticed. Gary we are going to do the same thing you did but we will be using chainsaws. What you did was a wonderful thing. There is a phone number for the state cemetery board they can give you direction and answer any questions you may have about the cemetery regulations.. Again, great Job ...

I have no idea when the stone walls were made but look how fine they were cut :)
Better than a hundred, plus years ago for sure I'm thinking those walls were constructed. Have you any clue to where those stones may have been quarried? So much of the 19th stone was quarried for building in places across this country, which are no more. I always admire looking at old buildings in the towns were local stone was found to build the churches and municipal buildings. The skills of rhe stone masons and quarry men of the past is fascinating to see.

Do you see how SMOOTH they are ?

I THANK you ALL for your KIND WORDS . I do enjoy messing with some of my equipment !! I am sure there will be a time when i can not mess with it. I do see a possibility of not to far in the distant future

Good job. See y'all, still a few good folks left in the world; they just don't make the tv news.
