Old Broach

Got to continue searching an old field this afternoon where I found a very worn hard times half penny token last week. Found this very nice broach. It is quite heavy. I believe it to be cut out brass plate with molded applied leaves, also of brass. My feeling is that it is 1840 to 1850. Does anyone have any other feelings as to the age. Appreciate any input....Lance
