Possibly a piece of a broken musket trigger guard.

Only thing I noticed though, when comparing it to broken Enfield gaurd I had, there's a section on the mystery piece that's like 5 mm thick,an kinda rounded, an can't find a part that thick on the gaurd( at least the part an type I've got)
