This small chest was given to me by an uncle nearly 50 years ago. I think he picked it up in the Orient during WW2. It is made of mahogany and pewter. Inside it's lined with black velvet which is not original, and a mirror inside the lid. It's quite heavy, and about 5" in length. The mark on the bottom says HINGKEE so I assume it's Chinese. I'd love to know more about this piece and a possible value, if anyone has any info. Thanks!

Sorry, I have no info for you ~ I just love your box! Its beautiful!
It would be worth it to have it appraised, IMO, whether you wish to sell or not. If nothing else, for insurance purposes.

Cool box! I have no idea of value but as was suggested I would have it appraised.
