I recently obtained this little figure and was wondering if anyone had knowledge on it.
It is old, dated on the back 1959. I did research the stuff on the back and couldn?t find anything about it. It may be from a local team, I was thinking the Washington senators but I?m not so sure. Any help would be great.

What state? Find a 1959 senator with T.G. Initials.

Sadly I come up empty with that search also, I did find one from rhode island but he would’ve been in his 90s then so I don’t think he was playing baseball :laughing7:

The state is Virginia by the way, specifically central Virginia if it happens to be a local team.

Could be for Thomas R. Glass. VA house member '58-65.
He would have been 31 at the time.

It wouldn't be a local team, it was a legislative game, like republicans vs democrats.

This could very well be him, no mention of him in a baseball game. Wonder if it’s just a very obscure game. Definitely isn’t the annual congressional game as that was on a hiatus in 1959

Yeah, I caught that too. Maybe a general assembly game?

Possibly, although after research I can find nothing on that either. Another thing that baffles me is the C. It DEFINITELY doesn’t stand for captain, which from what I understand was first used in 1983 to represent the teams captain in baseball specifically. So it most likely is some sort of clue. We wouldn’t be looking for a team anyway, just a legislative game that happened on that date in 1959, and that I can find none.

They still could have put the C on for VA Cavaliers (college team)? Just a guess at this point.

Update, it’s a Milano Italian figure. These were hand painted and made in the 40s, as for team I’m not too sure if any at all

Here’s a auction website, has the same figure but this one is part of a set of 6 Brooklyn (151) Vintage Baseball Figurines, Statues and Collectibles

Oddly I can’t find much more at all on Milano figures themselves other than 2 eBay listings, time for more research
