My wife and I cleaned out an attic in an old home and were told we could keep anything we wanted. When we found this we brought it to the owners attention and he said to take it if we wanted it so it makes me think there may not be much value. Maybe some of you can tell me different and raise my hopes. 100_0564.JPG100_0565.JPG100_0566.JPG100_0567.JPG100_0568.JPG100_0569.JPG100_0570.JPG100_0571.JPG100_0572.JPG Please forgive my photography skills. The 1st pic is a 1914 20 marks and a 1953 2 dollar bill. 2nd pic is 1953 2000 apaxmai and 1936 1 yuan. 3rd is 1930 1 gold unit. 4th is 1864 20 confederate dollars and 1863 5 cents. 5th is 1864 500 and 10 confederate dollars. If this is going anywhere I will try and give descriptions of remaining pics. Fingers and toes are crossed

i would take them to an expert the 2 dollar bill is cool i collect them when i can

Confederate $ can have value but don't expect face value for them. A quick eBay check could tell you if there is any demand for them.

I'd be interested in the low denomination Confederate bills, depending on their value.

Paper currency is by no means my area of expertise but if those confederate bills are authentic I imagine there might be some value there. I would take them to someone who is more of an expert and see what they're worth. Nice finds!

I will to take these to an expert. I only know about the money in my wallet which is very little. Interesting that my yuan and yours are so different surf seeing that they are the same year. Do you happen to know the value of yours? Even if my find is not worth much monetarily it is still history and I value it for that providing there is no counterfeits mixed in

Lets see the back of the confederate notes

I stand corrected. The 1863 NC 5 Cents bill seems to go for about $15 - $30. The 1864 CSA $20 appears to have sold on eBay for about face value, in your condition about $20-$25. The 1864 CSA $10 in your condition can go for a little less, maybe $15-$18. The 1864 CSA $500 is a great haul, I'd nominate banner on that find, they go for $225 - $500, which is the price range of my banner gold coin I recently found. Post a better pic of that $500, front and back, and if it turns out to be authentic, I will be your first banner vote :)

EDIT: My initial assumption that CSA $ is near-worthless is bc an old friend of mine had a CSA $20 that was priced at $12 when he had it looked at. I'd mistakenly ignored the fact that it was looked at 15 years ago when we were in high school. How silly of me...

some very cool notes there, hope you find that they are genuine!

Those Multi Million German Mark notes are pretty neat, Germany's economy was so bad after WW1, and they printed so many of them, people were using them to light fires! :laughing7: Not worth much today, but neat to look at and say "I'm a millionaire!"

That's a really cool find! I'd love to come across a stash like that.

Sadly though the Confederate 500$ is a repro, I have no clue on the 5 cent, but the other two look pretty good. The serial number for the 20 isn't on the known fakes list, what's the date and serial on the 10?

The date on the $10 is Feb 17 1864 and the serial # is either 26882 or 26802. My eyes are not to good anymore

more pics

I took more pics including the backs of the bills this time. Still not very good but hope they can provide more info100_0588.JPG100_0589.JPG100_0590.JPG100_0591.JPG
