Okay...time to vent! I found this site before I got my md. And now I am TOTALLY addicted to mding. You guys did it! Posting all your treasure pics! Now I have a couple of treasures, and can't get enough of being out there! My md is in my van at all times! My arms and knees are sore (that's from lack of exercise...just getting back in shape for this treasure hunting thing!) On the way home last night, just HAD to stop at a lake access. Found 2 dimes, and 3 pennies. It was storming across the lake...but I didn't care! Found an old farm site I want to detect, so tracked down the owner (unfortunately he wasn't home, but will call again today). I eat and dream mding! The next step is to superglue the headphones to my head (I don't think hubby would like it, he couldn't kiss my ears anymore...but I don't care!) It's tough doing anything else. Now I am in a hurry to get my work done so that I could 'get out there for a bit!

It's all your fault guys....THANKS! (I mean that in a good way you know!)

I don't know as if using the term "recovery" would be very helpful with this bloody addiction!!!! ;)

Welcome to a life of sunburn, dirty knees, back aches and dirt under your finger nails.... but who cares, cuz I found a rusty bolt and sixteen pultabs! ;D

Thanks for listening...doubt I will ever make it step 12 Omni! No turning back now...the only recovery here will be what comes out of the ground!

melnatcat, there is no cure! the only twelve step is while swinging your coil: "1...2...3...4...5...6...7...8...9...10...11...12. *BEEP*! dig!... pop-top! dang! 1...2..." There is this support group called treasurenet that has tons of helpful info and lots of friendly folks who would be glad to answer any questions that you have! ;) HH omnicognic

P.S Thanks stoney56 for the B-Day wishes! I was hoping to sneak through this one and pretend it didn't happen! ;D
 

Not a problem Omni. ;) It's what I get for looking at the calendar :P By the way you beat me to the punch line. LOL Was wondering how many could take 12 steps before hitting a pulltab. Did you know that there's over 63,000 in a mile?
 

Pulltabs. Actually it's 63,360 if laid end to end. Which means that there are apporximately 100,000 in the average city park. ::)
 

My yard...ooohhh boy! There are more nails than pull tabs...and they ring quarter, but if I keep swinging, the numbers go from iron to 199...large nail to me....so I actually started a 'scrap bucket' for nails. I swear, one lot here must've been the previous owners trash dump because every step is a beeeeep. (I'll wait till hubby is home to dig those ones...haha) Just determining which ones to dig is the problem...but because of the TN Teachers...it's getting better. But when hubby is out there with, he needs to know 'what that thing is'. It's a good thing he digs. Otherwise I get so frustrated digging crap! Of course the best is...when it rings dime and you pull up a chunk of pop can that's been hit by the lawnmower!

What's funny is that first day in the yard we found those silver quarters. Hubby, too, is like, hey no silver in while... what is going on here... He needs to read this forum! :D

It's 30 degrees right now...kiddies are sleeping...would love to get out there...but...brrrr!

You might be able to use those nails. Unless there ones like i got for my wall. Can't use them cause the dummy company made them backwards. They all point the wrong way.
