I pulled this large flake out of the sand yesterday and it has brought up a couple of questions...is it just a flake? Was this used as a knife or scraper? It has flakes taken out of both sides and could have been very sharp...this is part of my learning process. I can’t claim it’s usage either way...as always I appreciate the input. Thanks. It just as a few flakes off of it. It's probably a core, a piece the flakes were driven off of to make an arrowhead, either that or a forgotten project.

Looks like the beginning or first spall from a core. Sometimes they were flaked into a thumb-nail shaped scraper.

they used pieces like that to cut, scrap and lots of things. did you find it where other artifacts were found. remember, the women were the ones doing that stuff. Not all were for war, by warriors
