Please post pics or links if you can. I am using a nail apron right now ...it's easy and it's cheap but, canslaw already poked a hole and I did have a few coins slip out today while sky-gazing during a short break. Though I've not officially begun relic hunting yet, seems likely that I'll need something with more room.

This isn't exactly it, but close. I put my keeper clad in top pouch, pull tabs next one down. Big pouch is for trash. I can hang my propointer off of the hammer holder. Works great for me! I don't take it in the water, I use something different for that. I think I found it at Lowes.

Terry, thanks for your input. This looks like it might serve me well. Just wondering how much the main pocket expands? Just for some kind of standard... would you say you could fit 4 12 oz cans AND still be able to velcro the top securely?

Talon, thanks for your input. I looked at a few of these and just wasn't feeling it. Definite ease of access but, too many pockets and too little security for the woods where I hang out.

Understood, I use multiple pouches for different applications. Let me know if you find something good! I'm always looking for something better. I could really use a non-floating water pouch. Just haven't found one yet.

I'm almost embarrassed to post mine on there, especially after seeing some of the above..

For coins and jewelry I use the overnight backpack, filling the center with my finds. The 2 smaller pockets in the front are for water and miscellaneous digging tools

If I decide to relic hunt, no problem there either, I just dump it in the back of the pickup truck.

Why think small :dontknow:truck.jpg

i do what spart says dump every thing in back of truck, just cleaned out 15 lbs of scrap metal and junk

Four just a couple bucks I'll go with the nail apron. Sometime I wear two. When dirty I toss them in the washing machine.

Oh I had better look at mine. I just use use simple hunting vest and for coins I use zip-lock plastic bags then carry them in the vest. Anything bigger I stick in the back of the Jeep as well. For rubbish (this is embarrassing bit) I secure a super market shopping bag to "sheath" of my Lesche digging knife.
Haha maybe time for an upgrade :)

I use an old Army dufflebag. Frankhand print-2_edited-6.jpg

I'll go with at least three 12oz cans! Then you have the hidden pocket inside, and the zipper pocket outside. Good Luck!

Thanks everyone for the input. Couple of my spots are about a half mile hike in and involve a bit of bushwacking, so small(relative) and secure are important. I may end up caching some of the larger trash and backpacking it out every so often.

I suppose if trash was getting to be ridiculous, you could crumple up a plastic bag really small in the bottom of your pouch and bust it out only when you needed to cart out a whole 12 pack of rusty Schlitz cans.

As a first attempt I picked up an affordable (about $9) tool bag from Lowes.

It has nice pockets on both sides for digging tools and my HF pin pointer, the center pocket on one side has a velcro flap for my keepers, and plenty of space inside for junk. The only thing that does not fit well is the sand scoop.

I plan to keep experimenting.

I have a 5 gal bucket from lowes and two Mother Earth Friendly shopping bags. :D

When I start MD'ing I will probably use my Domke F2 bag that I have my Canon EOS 7D in, just line it with plastic. :P

i use a camo fanny pack it holds the garden shovel and has 2 side pockets and a main double zipper pocket and a single zippered pocket on the front

I used to use the nail pouch, but decided to get a small tool pouch that I can wear on a belt and carry my tools and keepers. Larger pocket is for junk. Go to Home Depot or Lowes and look at their tool pouch section, you may find something that grabs you. HH
