I know kellyco is a new sponsor on the forum and welcomed them when it was posted...I am going to have a little log on how my situation is handled... I will document it here!

Start of story....In August my pinpointer yes...the big old Automax V4 became erratic... I had received some very poor service online and did receive an e-mail back from Sharon after mentioning it...she offered to repair replace as needed...

I waited a few days pinpointer seemed ok...so kept using now among other things pinpointer became erratic...vibrate mode stopped working a few days ago...and yesterday the wand part some how became loose...so the pinpointer is under warranty...lets see how this journey goes... Am I headed toward 10,000 without my pinpointer... oh well my numbers have been dropping lately anyways...

Part #1 A letter e-mailed to Sharon yesterday explaining the problems all started again..pinpointer under warranty...lets see what happens! Hopefully the next few parts (to be added) will be good! :)

automax has a warranty?! well golly gee! mine just went erratic this weekend. i you adjust it while tipped down its ok, tip it up and it goes off and you have to readjust it. its like if the coil is loose inside?

I give up this time..they can figure it out! I fixed it myself enough to send in a bill! :D

Well I received an immediate response from Sharon Monday morning....my pinpointer is under warranty and is going to be replaced! :) Will drop a line when I receive it........ :) Cannot ask for a quicker response.... :)

I suggest you guys try bulletproofing the pin pointer. If you don't, the same problems will most likely arise in the future. The company that makes the pin pointer should sell it as a kit, then it would be easy to repair and or bulletproof by a novice. If you don’t want to repair or bulletproof it, at least buy a backup.

re-tek’s pin pointer might only need a little shimming of internal parts, tightening a screw, or bending of the battery contact, etc.

You are probably right...and for my style of hunting fast recovery and move on...a pinpointer is essential... I have gone from my 100 coin days to almost half that now on hunts... Have not had a 100 coin day since pinpointer went erratic back on the 3rd... Today another lousy day...40 coins total...the slump continues...12 days now and still not over...

hey Gregg, have you ever looked into getting a sunray probe for that DFX? a lot of guys swear by them.

A few have mentioned it...I am not used to taking a few minutes to recovery a coin...this is killing me...maybe a sunray next year... :)

I was thinking of getting a pin pointer, but I doubt it will be that brand from this post lol

Seriously get something smaller...it is 18 inches long and is always falling out of my pouch...this one is completely shot...I did use it a lot but erratic and not durable at all.... I will be glad when the replacement gets here though.. I am going to watch the classified for a new one cheaper...so I have a backup... Seriously if you really want to find more get a pinpointer...you may want to search some of the forums to decide which one....then watch for a bargain...sometimes they come in a package when people buy a detector they have one already and will sell it for alot less...sometimes half price. I would not pay more than $30 for the automax v4...

Well everyone great work by Kellyco..I already received the pinponter.... :) I could not ask for any faster service then that...Well it is about to rain here...no hunting today cut tree branches...had to be a record high...78 degrees here! :o...why do I have a feeling by this time tomorrow that brand new shiny pinpointer will be covered in mud??? ???

glad to hear you got your pinpointer gregg ! i'd hate to leave home without mine ;)
