Started off at a old park today but really wasn't finding much. I left the park and drove about 30 miles out to a old school in a very small town. I ended up finding a matching pair of .925 Silver Earrings...

The I took off from the school because it was getting so hot and the ground was really dry. On my way home I passed by one of, if not the most "hunted out park" in the town I was driving through. The park dates back to approx 1870's. Not to mention that this park is located really close to a old manufacturer of Metal detectors and this is where they came to test new products before release. So I know this park has been hammered to death. However, Storm armed with his trusty Minelab was able to get in between a few deep iron targets and was rewarded with some deep silver...Every bit of 10" if not more.

I do believe I think I found myself a late 1800's Love Bracelet. There are no marking of metal content, so that places it before the 1906 stamping act. At least thats what me and my hunting partner agree upon. What do you guys think? Are we on target?

UPDATE......

I took it to an antique jeweler today and there are 2 facts that they could tell me about the bracelet....

1.) It's Silver, Unmarked.
2.) It's Hand Engraved.

However for the date, she is not sure. She said that there are still a few people that hand engrave, however it is not very common. Based on the fact that people still do it, it could have been made last week LOL. However based on the depth that it was found, we both still believe that it is late 1800's - early 1900's.

Very nice bracelet there storm. How much cleaning did you have to do to get it to look that good? It couldn't have come up out of the ground looking that nice.

I cleaned it with some silver cleaner and a toothbrush bath in soap and water.  It came out of the ground bent straight so I gave it back its shape.

That is so cool! What really caught my eye was the script writing on the bracelet..I found a medal earlier this summer with a person's name on it, written in that same kind of script..the medal dated back to around 1920.

OUTSTANDING Nathan--

I really think it's a cool old find. The name on the bracelet is surely not a common name now a days. Anyway, I've got to tell you Nathan, how proud I am of you for sticking with and learning the Explorer like you have. Keep at it!

I've personally hunted that old park many differant times and it's got to be one of the more difficult parks I've ever hunted. When the ground is wet there, it's like you're hunting a garbage dump.

Good job my friend!

That's a really nice bracelet you found there, Storm!!

I just love the challenge of a "hunted out" park. The finds are more rewarding from places like this.
The Explorer will find what others have left behind.

Congrats on your silver finds.
