OK guys it’s been a while but I’m perplexed What is a Slidell tool for I found it in an Indian Shellmound where I have found in the end tomahawks as well as 1812 buttons and coins I know it’s not that old because of the notch I don’t know does anybody know?

Slidell is a locale in your state. Bout the only sure thing I know about your piece.

If the hole was centered I'd guess a rivet through it could hold a spoon bowl or spatula type flat piece.

Looks about long enough to be part of an eyeglasses frame.

History has a tendency to present itself with items that get mixed in as the years go by. You could very well be correct with your enology but so could I. Just keep on diggin and really deep is all those prehistoric bones from those critters that had the deed to that property at the beginning.

I think that's it. Can't say for # of speeds, but for a spoked bicycle, anyhow. Too similar to be coincidental.

Spoke wrench and tire changing lever/paddle.

It’s weird everybody wants to go deep and when you’re working in brick shells oyster shells roots it’s hard I have dug one big hole and by the time I filled it in I just jump back in the truck and drove 50 miles back home I was done lol
