But there is no joy in Mudville — mighty Casey has struck out.
Ok, so I'm not really being too serious. I finally went out to initiate my brand new AT-PRO. I wanted to give it the best chance for a good find to start off my last half of my career as an amateur archeologist. Wanted my new machine to start off right. So, I skipped over countless rings, gold doubloons, silver trinkets, platinum bands, to get to the best vdi I could get before I made my first dig.
Some were very tempting too! Well, at least they're still there for the rest of you to find.
AND, now, without further ado.
Here is my brand new detector's very first find for me.
I got a solid 84 - 86 hit with an occasional rise to 92. About 5 inches down, in pretty good ground.
Let the trumpets blow!
TAAAAH DAAAHHH!
Both coins were in the same hole, basically glued together. That explained the occasional 92.
Here's the rest:
Fair pile, eh?
This one wasn't fair. It completely fooled me into thinking it was a ring. But, if you look close you can see the lens. It's a lens for a camera.
Anyone know Peggy from 1941?
All in all, somehow, I am not too sad. A pretty good start if I do say so myself. My second half has begun. More to follow. Count on it! LOL
Thanks for taking a moment to peek.
