One of my best gold rings I found today in a playground (unknown location)
Although the stones are tiny, I seem to be able to count 5 across, and 26 side to side... equaling 130 stones !!
Marked 10K Kc ? Does anyone know what Kc is ?
Pictures of the other stuff dug, and the Gold Ring... the other ring is not gold, and no silver was found that I know of...
Yuppie !!

And just to be clear, mine doesn't say 10 KC it says 10K KC which at least in my opinion means 10 karat made by KC... IDK :dontknow:
Yes it does.
10K content of plating
By the maker KC

There's an easy way of doing this also.
Have the stones tested if in fact diamonds or synthetic.
Most every jeweler has a tester.

??? Yes it does what ?? So are you trying to tell me that ANY ring I dig with 10k on it, is automatically considered plated because its marked like that ? This is all news to me... in 35 years of hunting I have always seen, 10k gp or 10k gep meaning Gold Plated or Gold electroplated. I've never seen a 10k mark that is supposed to mean its plated,
(this would make it a fraud scam on the company manufacturing it)
Several other things I take into consideration when looking at gold rings, if its plated and its been worn for a long time, you can usually see a line somewhere, where the plating is starting to come off of the underlying metal, there is none of that here, although the band is looking a little thin at the bottom, like it had been worn for many years before losing it.
Also if you look at gold close up, anywhere there are scratches, if the metal in the scratches is a different color, it's plated, if the metal is uniform even in the scratches, its not.
Anyway I will have it professionally tested as I don't have the capacity to test the stones..

Sooo I took it to PERRY'S at SouthPark Estate Jewelry dealer in Charlotte, my go to people for jewelry I have found, and they said that they are in fact real diamonds and the ring is really 10k. Although she said they are two small for them to do anything with. they would have given me about $35 for the 10k gold value, and she said the diamonds would burn off in the smelting process..
She said the diamonds were chips that are cut to 33 sides instead of 56 sides of normal diamonds.
There appears to be 130 of them.
She also said I might get about $200 from someone who wants a diamond ring ....
So there that ...
and she said that it is NOT Kenneth Cole, but some other makers mark.

3.15 grams :dontknow: Well I have someone who might buy it for $200 so it was worth getting checked out, Perry's doesn't charge to examine jewelry .. just driving over there and having a professional look at it. Anything average I don't haul to them to check, but this had a lot of stones and it was nice to hear what they had to say.

Online price for scrap is showing
$85.685
which is a LOT better than $35, that's why I don't sell shit to them.. Midwest pays 95% but $35 sounds less than 50%
