Ok...I didnt find these today...the 1829 capped bust half-dime I found two days ago, and the 1875 seated dime I found a week ago or so.
But I just started metal detecting and joined the forum so I wanted to share. I am in Maine at an old inn built in 1816 which served as a post
office, stagecoach stop, dance hall, etc and has been in continuous operation. In my first 20 minutes, and my very first time metal detecting I
found the 1875 dime which is in great shape. I returned to the area the following week, which was two days ago, and unearthed the half-dime
which is also in really great shape. To say I am thrilled with this new hobby is an understatement! I have also found a 1963 silver US quarter
and a pocketful of clad and pennies. I am using a Fisher F2, and it seems to be a great detector. Already paid for itself! The half-dime was deep.
Id say eight inches at least..probably deeper. But what a rush. I recommend to anyone thinking about detecting, do it! It is pretty cheap to
get started and lots of fun, gets you outdoors, some excercise...allround great hobby.
