Howdy All, I found these metal detecting at an old house site. Also found lots of cast iron, farm equipment parts and T model Ford parts. The tool is hand forged with the spike part being welded into the handle hole. Spike is also twisted and is wrapped with a small band at the handle. Other piece is brass and i have no idea what it is.

Howdy All, Just checking out some previous post and found out the Brass piece is a Ford model T throwout bearing holder. Thanks to Cannonballguy for hid ID on the other post. steve

Isnt that a tang for a sythe handle? old style before they had the nut on them the tip was just bent over.

If it is its earlier than any I have ever seen.I just ided two of those for a friend of mine on Sunday.All of em I have dug from mid 19th century sites are threaded
