Yup, gas light valve, the "clover" piece is possibly a safety lock to make sure it's fully closed, or to keep children from opening it. I don't think I've seen one with that feature before.

Hello All. I found this at a small town lot near the old RR station. It has an "S" and an "A" on the front and back and a weird spring loaded clover leaf piece on it with a 10/21/01 patent date engraved on it. Looks to made of copper or maybe brass

I always hate saying "I have not idea" but I am stumped on this one. Any ideas are welcome. HH C9
Tell me EXACTLY what it says and how its written and we should have no problem finding a diagram of this patent. . It looks like PAT OCT 2 10 but I cant read the rest PENDING?

I guess its PAT. OCT 2101 for patent Oct 21, 1901 but Google patent search doesnt seem to work for me. Well anyway I found another that sold on ebay but no information.. Its definitely part of a gas valve.
