The top item in pictures 2, and 3 is part of a locking mechanism in a lock.

I agree with AARC & Tony, looks like a cabinet latch

I see no confirmation or should I say "solve"...

Welp this is what I was thinking...

Similar... but not limited to... this...

I think gate latch also but the bottom piece resembles a soda pop opener.

Great Id's You guys must run the Patent office. LOL

I got Dozens of old pieces of Iron , Brass , Pewter / Zinc . That are piling up & need an ID , so I know rather to recycle , reuse , or preserve .

Thx Yak we all learn from such requests.

DCMatt, I did those searches, antique lock mechanisms, internal gun parts, mechanisms, levers, latches etc. Never a definitive match.

I have half a dozen mortise locks, a couple almost in perfect shape, some open that I have already investigated.

I'm not saying the two parts are related, but they were dug a few feet apart.

A 'keyword' or 'proper name' is what I'm looking for.

Now if you said Beer Bottle Opener, I would be tempted to mark as solved.

I thought soda pop was more family friendly LOL:laughing7:
