Well here is an odd duck coin I found. It came out of quarter roll from work. I looked it up on the internet and found out that it is a 1737 Portugal 3 Reis coin. Can't find a price for it though. the closest thing I found was that someone was asking 150 on ebay and another website says on a rarity scale with 0 to 100 with 0 being very very common and 100 rare as hen's teeth, this coin was an 95. Anyone got a coinbook that goes that far back and can ya please look it up for me?

Thanks a bunch,
Hugs and Smiles,
Garoulady

PS - someone put a hole in it so that might bring the price down.

If there is a hole in it= no value. However, it is one old coin to find CRH.

1737 — $6.00 in F, $12.00 in VF, $40.00 in XF, $75.00 in UNC

A keeper regardless! (Besides, how would you even be able to dump such a thing if you wanted?)

Obviously, you would stick it in a roll of quarters like whoever had it before did.

I haven't found a pic yet, but this should be the description:

O: Crowned ornate shield, having on it seven castle towers, surrounding a cross made of five shields with five dots on each
IOANNES V DEI GRATIA
R:(Value) III within wreath, date below
PORTUGALIAE ET ALGARBIORUM REX III date

Edit: OK, found it:Coins Catalog - Portugal, 3 reis, KM#225 / Numismatics with Global Coins
