Odd for Indiana

DISCLAIMER!!! I did not find this coin. I take no credit for this story. I’m just sharing this find because it’s very odd for Indiana.Thanks for looking.

So my brother lives over by Indianapolis and has a friend that arrowhead hunts the area. The other day he was walking through the field and Stumbled across this. He said he seen something shiny and walked over and picked it up. I don’t know much about European coins, so I will leave this here. We find it to be very strange as to why that coin was laying there. We are probably going to go detecting there in hopes of finding a hidden treasure lol. Again, I take no credit for this find, I’m just sharing the story. Enjoy.

Wow odd indeed. Gives me hope finding one further west. Its huge im guessing a spanish 8 real? Congrats to your friend. Get the detector over there ASAP! Can we see a pic of the reverse side please?

That is an excellent "eyeball" find. I would surely get out there with detectors. Could have been an old homestead on that field.
