And by the way— donning my official Moderator beanie for a moment— let's not have any "clever" posts about the name of the inventor! ::)

That's just tooo easy. LOL.
Reminds me of the name of the guy that invented the bra.
What about the guy that popularized the flush toilet? (Thomas Crapper)
thomas crapper did not invent the toilet that is a myth...lol

Hey I found one that says"Merry Widows #3" in less than 2" of soil in the back yard of a house I used to rent which was built in 1942 in Utah. Great Find?

This one sold for $10.50 on eBay. Sometimes you'll see them listed for $20 or more, retail. There are several varieties.

When you say they came in several verieties do you meen

Just a little info about why people may think Thomas Crapper invented the toilet. He owned and ran 3 plumbing stores in the UK. As such, the products he sold would bear his business name. It was the World War I doughboys passing through England that brought together Crapper's name and the toilet. They saw the words T. Crapper-Chelsea printed on the tanks of the toilets there and coined the slang "crapper" meaning toilet. The legend of Thomas Crapper takes its flavor from the real man's life. While Crapper may not be the inventor of the product he is most often associated with, his contribution to England's plumbing history is significant. And the man's legend, well, it lives on despite all proof to contrary.

Just some more useless information. Hope this doesn't put the thread in the crapper. ;D
