Hi all. Got out this morning in a new corn field. The farmer is working his way up the river planting, so I had to do a quick search hoping to find the hot spots in this new field. Found these oddities. Any help with ID's would be appreciated. I thought the little disc shaped items were silver dimes when I first saw them in the hole. They are 17.5 mm ( .690 in ) and I think made of lead. A magnet does not stick to any of the items. Thanks for looking.

Your brass or copper flattened piece looks like the rear half of the bowl of a spoon, with the handle broken off right at the edge. Could the round lead objects be shotgun slugs of some sort? Sub 8-)

the round slugs may be a form of hem or curtain weights...a simple guess

I don't think the lead disks have a lot of age to them. Not sure if you can see in the first pic, but one set has 2 sections and is bent while the other ( the one in the second pic ) has 3 sections as seen in that picture. I thought I had 2 dimes stuck to each other when I found the first one. Thanks for your replies.

The brass or copper piece looked like it had the shape of a shield when I first found it, Sub. I was hoping when I rubbed the dry dirt off to see letters or some numbers on it, but there were none.

When I googled hem weights, the pictures certainly did look like these except they all had either 2 very small holes or 2 half moon-shaped holes on either side of the solid center. Other than the 2 holes instead of one, they were identical, so maybe you're right BF.
