First off I'd like to see if anyone has some information on the buckle in these pics:
The front has the engravings as shown and on the tounge part onthe back side has a marking of French Silver Plate on one corner and Pat-12-13-21.(I think) Giant Grip and the words Base Metal between two b's with radiating lines out from them on either side. It wasfound not too far from the Silver WW2 EIB in the picture. Trying to see if there's an age connection there.
This set of pictures was stuff also found in the same lot:
I know about the Koin Pack condom holder and was told the buckle thing is also GI related, but thats it. Not sure where it would have been used at so any pics would be appreciated. I unfortanately couldn't get the date off the dog tax tag (19?5) but it's made of iron. The handle looking thing with the flowery engraving is a complete mystery to me, it also appears to have been attatched to something else that rusted off from it. Had one person say it reminded them of a longette but I got no idea about that.
Thanks in advance for any information you can give me on these items. The place I dug all these up at is now a graveled parking lot, so if all this stuff is tied together somehow I was thinking about making a nice display case and perhaps even donating the EIB and some of the rest to a local small military museum if they'd be interested. I had told a friend at work about the EIB and he told me about his friend that run it and would probabley enjoy having it.
