Measures 2.175" at its equator, which also appears to be threaded. Stands 1.75" tall. Fairly certain it's made of brass.
My first thought was some sort of bell until I saw the threads, and one of my coworkers suggested the bottom of an incense bowl. I doubt either of these are accurate.
