I used to live in Kingston and Oak Ridge. Moved down here in 87'. I lived on Black Oak Ridge in Holiday Shores behind K-25. My house was at an elevation of 1150 so I was probably looking right down on Wheat. i could see within K-25 from my house. You need to be hunting any patch of woods around Kingston. I found a lot of civil war stuff there. Its there. Just find some wooded hills and get busy. Kingston was incredibly busy with civil war camps everywhere. Get busy ! Its there !

Went back today. More ball lids and a Woodbury facial creme jar, also a really sharp buckle

That's on Federal Property too if I'm not mistaken. There is a lot of civil war relics to be found between Lenoir City and West Knoxville. Just find a patch of ground somewhere along The Old Stage Road which parallels Kingston Pike and you are there. Also there is a road called Hardin Valley. There was a ferry down there that was guarded and crossed by civil war troops.

Hiking trail and greenway is what most of wheat is now. There is a small spot they keep mowed with a church on it.

I do know where Hardin valley is. Over that way on Williams bend most every weekend. Have a Gps on that location?

Looks like Williams ferry isn't on my Williams bend , but the location of scarboro is very very interesting.

It looks like according to your map that scarboro isn't where the modern signs and "history" say it was... The map puts it in the woods at haw ridge park instaead of the area around scarboro park and the scarboro historic signs a few miles from there.

Also if it has not been developed into a sub division yet ...there are the ruins and remains of the old roane county poor farm. Keep in mind I'm trying to think back to when I lived there in 77' and on up for a while. i BELIEVE if you find a new bridge on the Clinch at Kingston that goes out Sugar Grove Valley .. on the south side of that bridge , head east up the ridge , and there are many many foundations of buildings in the woods there. You might locate this on google earth. It would be good coin hunting. Also on another note ...if you hunt downtown Kingston yards , you will find civil war stuff. I was demonstrating a little cheap Garrett S-2 detector ( $99.00 ) to a neighbor and got a good signal in his front yard. Hells Bells ! It was a confederate cast I button !!!!
