Nice! Question though, is that part of a two piece, or complete as is?

It has the remnants on the back of a pin on each end and is one piece. I did research when I found the "IND" badge. After one year of enlistment in the union Army during the civil War, a soldier could purchase the pin for their state from a suttler's store. They could wear it and take it home after the war. The pins were private purchase and not government issued. The hardest to find are Tennessee, Iowa, Missouri, and Wisconsin according to Larry Hicklen at Middle Tennessee Civil War Relics. This is another picture of the CW Tennessee Veteran's pin that VOL1266-X. This is one great find. There are only about 20 known to exist.
