NY 1830's house finds--coppers where art thou?

granthansen and I traveled up to the Taghkanic, NY area where we were kindly hosted at an 1830's house. For 1.5 days we searched high & low and in between with thoughts of large cents on our minds. Try as we might (and try we did from sunrise to sunset), we could not unearth a largey, but we did manage a few keepers in our own rights. You can read about granthansen's finds--including his 1st Barber (found in typical granthansen fashion just before we left)--here. Below are my highlights, which include an 1859 fatty, hammered silver link of some sort, 3 older buttons (2 with shanks), octagonal store token, AA token, pipe stem, and a pewter acorn. Nothing thrilling as we'd hoped, but a great time in a beautiful area doing what we love. We'll be back in the spring when the coppers come out of hibernation. Peace & HH.

I like that token and fat early indian. Nice finds!

I think it funny that although I haven't been tipsy in many a moon, I was quickly able to ID the token as an AA piece.

And when you say the coppers will come out of hibernation, I think you mean out of hibernia-tion!

As always, a great weekend with NJLARGECENT, which is the best treasure of them all :laughing7:

Still some more good finds there, no doubt.

No doubt! It's a matter of a) patience, b) not ripping up the property owners' entire lawn, and c) wondering if everything is too deep to detect because of potential fills. That front lawn turned into sand just 3 inches deep. Very odd.

Not that AB&C are deterrents.

Thanks for the comments. The silver links could be a ring (I certainly hope so!), but I failed to put an object next to them for scale. They are actually smaller than a dime. See updated pic below.
