The snow was only a couple of inches deep in the woods and I only had to brush it off the coil
about every 7th swing but, I didn't mind because I was at least outside and hunting again.

After digging a couple of screw-caps (got to warm up the coil ;D) I got my first solid hit. . . which
turned out to be the largest pocket spill I ever found. . . $3.28 to be exact. It took me about 25-minutes
to hunt through all the wet mud to recover these "goodies". . . which turned out to be clad!! >:(

Anyway. . . about 5 feet away from this massive spill, I did manage to find a 1928-P Buffalo and
a "butt-ugly" fork. . . down around 8". . . near the river bank.

With all the rain tonight & warm weather tomorrow, Sunday should be nice. . . if it doesn't rain ;D

Thanks for looking,

Congrats on an insane pocket spill watercolor!

That's a gorgeous lookin' buffalo too! Actually those scans make it look like the coins are floating :) Really cool.

What came out of the hole from the other day that was so deep?

The fork or the pocket spill

Awesome find, glad you got a chance to get out bud!!! For a second I thought you found my pocket spill that I gave up on. Joe seen it (out in the field) I kept pullin dimes and quarters, I gave up after about $2.50. That fork would be a cool candidate for a fork-ring. I don't remember where I seen it (maybe youtube) where people take old flatware and make rings and pendants out of them, then silverplate them and actually make good money.

Looks like toll change and a soda pop! Always better to get all the clad out of the way in one swing if you can.

Hey Fiend, they used to make more than rings out of old flatware, here's my fork-barret that came out of about 6" deep in a parkway a year or two ago. Gotten a couple of them over the years now.

Great finds Tim, back in the day they reused everything I guess.... :icon_pirat:

Way to go!
That's a lotta change there, and what an ornate pattern on that fork.

Whoa!!! Almost enought to fire up the tumbler and out of just one hole! That's crazy. :tard:

Congrats on the buffalo!

Maybe I'm goofy - but I think that's a cool fork! ;D

Nice finds, Mark!

Hey Lowbatts, I never knew they made hair barrets out of silverware. Thanks for the pics of those!
