Now I've Seen Everything ...

... I think.
I made my coin pickup today of CWR and MWR's.
There is one bank in a 55 and over community I go to.
Pick upped CWR's of cents, nickels, dimes and quarters.
Quarters produced nothing but a Good Luck Token,
dimes a 1946 and just a couple of nickels before 1959.
Cents had no Wheaties. Pick upped one of the cent rolls
and it felt light. Opening the end, I could not get anything
to come out. Cutting it open, the customer had placed a dime
wrapper inside. They had put 26 cents into the dime wrapper
and pushed it into the cent wrapper. Things must be getting bad.
Maybe the pension/SS checks are not going far enough. I've had
Tums, nuts, and other things put in wrappers. But this is new.

Ouch. I found a half roll about a month ago that had 19 halves and 2 quarters in it.I guess that's good enough.

I've found similar things.... monetarily equivalent but not the coins that are on the label.

A friend of mine is a teller, the vault manager held a meeting with all of the tellers and pulled out 10 rolls of dimes and showed them to the tellers. Every single roll was all pennies other than a dime at the top and a dime at the bottom. The teller (not my friend, another teller they work with) who did accepted the coins was put on probation for being almost $40 short for accepting. This is why a lot of banks are making customers write their account numbers on the rolls.
