I tune into Paystreak, he is good. Doesnt BS anyone, but he does repeat the same thing in case you didnt hear it the first time. He is a big believer in Nokta products too. Gives great tips.

Hello, I have a Nokta Anfibio and its a great machine. Sturdy, goes deep and extremely accurate. This post grabbed me because I too have been thinking about upgrading to the XP Deus 2, or the Nokta Legend. I see it as those who rush to buy the latest I-phone...soon to discover the extra money the spent was not woth the minimal upgrades. When a person uses a machine for years they know it inside and out. I know people bash the WhiteV3i at times...I can dig a pencil eraser cap at 11 inches with mine. Calabash is a salesman. He is straightshooter. Tell me, I know you used Whites before and others, but is the Legend worth it, is it that good ?

It is too early for me to say the Legend is as good or better than the Equinox 800. I need another 50-hours on the headphones at least with the Legend. Also, Nokta Makro just released the first update for the Legend. How many for my Nox now, four?

Well since we mentioned calabash he creates his own environment, you notice he’s always on the defense like its personal it’s no longer my opinion just check his YouTube, look he’s very knowledgeable and helpful, but constructive criticism is well if you can give it you should be able to take it. Everyone on this site this is all I want specifically because of him saying xp deus is way way better. You no what calabash you can sit there in your lab coat and preach, if you can show us all the epic and banner finds this summer I will say the xp deus is worth 5 thousand dollars. Look your front and center gee your drawing attention bragging heavily about a machine that has yet to show the epic finds that’s it, nothing more unless he continues to defend something that he created I don’t see anyone else trying to sell this machine like him. Well the Deus 2 manual tells you NOt TO AIR TEST !!! GROUND TEST !!! i do NOt and WILL NOT WATCH any of his VIDEOS !
If some company sends you a free machine are you GOING to BAd MOUTH THE COMPANY or BRAG about them ?

Your absolutely correct, all I ask is if your going to shoot videos and constantly brag about a certain name either say that your a loyal customer or a spokesperson why because many people value these videos honesty not because a person is getting compensated in some manner. So your saying a person can dig 250 keepers more with a $1600.00 out of hard hit sites, and not one of those 250 make the banner so the machine isn't worthy.
Basing it on making it to the "Banner" is weak..
Many can mirror banners yet haven't received one. It's subjective to say the least.
How many gold coins, plates,buttons posted have missed the banner, many.
Reasons not written up well, or some other reason.
Digging a few more buttons, a silver or two, as well as greenies out of s hard hit site would probably justify the cost.
Yet oh that scarey price tag. Surely the buyers of the new aren't too worried.
Nor are the folks buying the $700 machine.
But to base a banner on the worthiness of a machine.
Not buying that one either.

Yes YouTube videos, I’m learning but takes time to weed out the hidden spokesmen and trying to find the regular guys who give honest test to us users. Recommend any or on here. Currently I don’t have either, that’s why I’m looking for a fair unbiased person to show us so we can make up our minds, very simple request, I think spring is coming and ground will be unfrozen soon, good luck folks I appreciate your imput

I will second the others recommending PayStrek Superfreak, and Metal Detecting NYC. The NYC guy has 20 different metal detectors and has paid for each one out of his own pocket. He got the Legend last week and he just picked up the Deus 2 so will probably be doing some compare and contrast.

That is a BOLD statement Calabash. I am still on the fence. We have had a couple of years and several updates to learn the Equinox, and only a few days and one upgrade on the Legend. I think I'll give myself another 100-hours on the Legend before I make any grandiose statements.

I understand the desire to find unbiased reviews. Keep in mind that some folks are biased even though they are not compensated. After spending a fair amount of money for something, there is a natural tendency to justify the purchase in their own mind. There is also bias against certain products from some individuals. It doesn't take long to figure out who is who after spending some time watching and researching.
As a newbie, I spent a couple of months reading forums, facebook groups, watching videos and visits to a store. I was trying to get familiar with the lingo, what brands were available, general overall preferences and what I perceived would fit my intended uses. I wanted a single unit that could be used in parks, on the beach, in the water and could be used in 15 to 20 feet of water. I also wanted unit that was light and ergonomic. I spend a lot, but I am happy with the purchase, as I felt I got what BEST FIT my desires and intended uses. What I didn't want was to purchase a unit and then turn around and upgrade and have to pay twice or buy multiple machines to fit different uses.

It is not a grandiose statement Terry it is a fact....Nokta Makro came up a little short on a Nox killer.....It is 300 cheaper so that has to be kept in mind.... It does not take much testing or use to figure that out...

Honestly I dont want to get in a peeing match about the Legend others will show it is short against the Equinox soon enough......If you want the BEST then it is a Deus II...

JUST so you ALL ALSO KNOW the Deus 2 will not AID you in finding your MI6 pinpointer. There manual on page 36 says it will but it will NOT !! I contacted Deus Repair in the USA They had me contact DEUS in France. .

If you follow the process >OPTION>PAIRING>icone PINPOINTER>select>2 options are available>1) UNPAIR /2) RESEARCH.



In the manual it’s a wrong translation « RECOVER » should be replace and understand with « RESEARCH ».

Seems like they have removed that option.

I would recommend you check out DirtFishing youtube channel. He has been using the Legend and has videos on lots of other machines. Seems he does not like the VDI for coinshooting (Pennies* & Dimes are too close and vdi jumps) also seems like he has had some issue's pinpointing even with the latest update. In fairness the Legend may not have been designed with the coin-shooter strictly in mind but I"m not overly impressed as I personally don't have the time or energy to hunt in the same way Paystreak does. I usually only have a couple hours so I have to be a little more selective in what I dig.

Paystreak just posted a video that he is struggling with the Deus II since the latest "large # display" update and his machine is really chatty. - I'm not sure whats going on there but I hope it gets resolved soon. Calabash you may want to talk to your buddy there as I'm interested in seeing how Deus fixes that issue? I would have like to seen him switch to a single freq. to see if that emi ? issue went away. I do like the larger # display though as that is what I am used to on the ORX.

** I think Paystreak should have a disclaimer on his videos that he can get by with a sweep speed that fast because he has thousands of hours metal detecting and his ears are very much in tune with the tones

MetalDetectingNYC aka Merrill has a live stream tonight so looking forward to what he thinks of the Legend coming form his Nox. I believe he has the Deus II coming as well.

- On the topic of the Deus II just keep in mind that the Deus I still gets the job done and can be bought used for <$700.

For now I'm using an Etrac I bought used for $600 in the parks and my ORX in fields and old home sites - I think I could probably migrate to 1 machine and that could be the Legend or Deus 2 or even a Vanquish if I wanted to, but I'm in the wait and see camp as well. ** I do not hunt on wet sand, dive, or even hunt much in the rain so I can factor that in when buying a new machine for myself.

Reading all these posts about the newest detectors puts one clear thought in my head....the BEST DETECTOR IN THE WORLD IS YOU. If you know your machine, and stick by it, using your wits about location, ground condition, gridding, sweep speed and more...you have tuned the best detector, your mind, into an added force with your machine. A lot of people bash Whites and not really impressed anymore with the V3i by example. Buy the other day I walked right behind someone who was using one of these new machines, and dug a shield nickel he missed. Whether it's operator error or machine, experience rules as much or more in this hobby !
