Not able to pull up your tab. I'm not aware of any family from the north. I guess he could have ventured up to Pa. though to that photographer. Probably will never know. Thanks for your input
I found 2 other links to the book,History of Schuylkill County, Pa By Joel Munsell's Sons 1881
that mentioned slotterbeck/slotterback, was looking through it there is a Edwin L Severn in it
he sorta looks like your pic,and Retired Sarge mentioned that it looks like the man is missing
his right arm, & so is Edwin L Severn

Yes, I had a couple of pair of bell bottoms myself.
Ahhh, the 70's........bell bottoms, polyester leisure suits, platform shoes, mood rings, (they sho was bad), and that awful disco. Still, we managed to get through it all.
