if this is the correct place to post this. I do know what it is, its a painting, but just wondering if anybody can give em more info on it. It was found in a home that was getting demolished. It is on canvas and is definitely an original. I don't know much about paintings, but I think it is a very cool looking one.

Spot on Spike!!
Was Chezar's first name mentioned in your search?
I see a 'Boris' Chezar but his style doesn't seem to fit this painting.
Right now I'm researching another Chezar (Sebastian) as a candidate for this pic. On at least one painting he signed his name CHEZAR on the front. He also signed 'Sebastian Chezar' on the reverse--and that is why I earlier asked the finder: 'Anything on the reverse?'

Only spotted the pic and noticed the Boris Chezar, but agree his style is not a match.

I see your point Don. This Sebastian Chezar still a 'mystery' artist :icon_scratch:

I'm wondering, is it sandy and textured? sebastian chezar is still a mystery but his paintings had that sandy and textured style.

i'm very sure it cannot be boris chezar, you can read about him on his website and it describes all the types of artwork that he did. And none of it is sandy or textured. Well, who knows maybe they are brothers! or maybe boris chezar has an underground name sebastian chezar which does the sandy and textured work and nobody knows! and btw I have a painting that is signed by chezar(bottom right)and every time my friends come over, they have to complement it. There are women with long dresses, some with flowers in their hands. And the painting has cobblestones, which seems to like. Red hues and blue hues on the tops of the buildings.

NOT SURE RESPONSE - ARTIST IS BORIS CHEZAR

The painting is a Boris Chezar (1913 - 2008) oil with sand. Here's a link to info about him: Boris Chezar Studio

Interesting picture :icon_thumleft:
It appears to me, to be a crayon or pastel, plus water colour (color ;D)
is it?

Just an observation; The central point of focus in the work is 'a figure, waving a huge stock whip, driving (it seems) two harnessed animals, of indeterminate breed, at speed (?) down an avenue of cobblestones, where people are taking a stroll'

I can't make out the signature.

Well is it a Boris Chezar original which by this time you probably already know.. I just picked one up. Found pricing to be anywhere from $200 to $30,000 for his paintings. I love mine.
