Was MD around my house and found a dime 4 inches down with this buried with it. I believe its a rock with some type of coating on it. Not sure if its handmade or what any ideas??

Looks like an old ceramic insulator.

Looks like a wire insulator, wire wraps around and goes thru the holes.

yep
