I found this piece on a old site that was tore down in 1940s built in late 1700s finding all different stuff ranging from 1700s to 1940s , so im gessing this is a shoe buckle but would like see if any of uses can help out with this and wondering what years thay used them during the days appreciate any help thanks

I'm not getting the shoe buckle vibe. It looks too flimsy and there are no mounting points for the center pin.

I'm going with 19th C buckle brooch.

I saw the one mounting point. It's in the same place as the pin on the brooch pic I posted. A shoe buckle would have mounts on he other axis. Not a shoe buckle.
