Not clear....coin or medallion??

Found this morning in the yard of a 1790's home in upstate NY ... very light metal and obvious hole....penny alongside.

Any ideas

I'd guess a very early coin. But extremely hard to tell. In the last photo on the left side I can see clearly 16.

I have this 1749 farthing and the position of the hole on the back makes me think of your coin - I think I can make out a Britannia on yours ...maybe..

I'd say it was a tag that was held by what ended up being a rusty wire.
