Not A Sword

A quick glance at the shape and it looks like a broken sword. But the grip of a should encircle the hilt, not be only on one side. And not a flat piece of wood. Maybe a broken piece of a metal gate or fence?

When I was a kid in the 70's my mother had 2 swords and a mace hanging in the living room. It was a popular thing back then. When she was away my brothers and I would chase each other around with them. Lots of fun and only a little blood...

I though I was the only one who did that but with ceramonial swords and kitchen knives lol

And bottle rockets, hammers, rocks, rubber bands, towels, the list goes on and on....what good a brother that doesn't birth the idea and invention of a weapon from a regular, every day household item such as a fireplace poker or a hot wheels track?

To reiterate what A2 said, the rivets do appear to be there to attach a handle to the piece and, therefore, I would think it to be a home made sword - or, at least, an attempt to make one.

Still a nice find though!

Well if you found it on Oak Island I would say it was a Templar sword dating back to the beginning of Templars and life as we know it.

But since you did not find it on oak island...

Then its a "novelty" piece.
