Doesn’t register on metal detector. Any way to clean off the crud? Was wondering if maybe an old handle with fancy lattice knob.

is it easy to break up? the hole on one end suggests it is hardened accumulation around roots or twigs, underground for quite some time.

Ok, I know you said it's non metallic, but that object looks metallic. Also, with one of the images, at the far left, it looked like rusty metal. I think it's a key, but it couldn't be, because it's hollow in the middle of that long piece, which doesn't make sense. So, I'm not sure what it is
