Would you interprete this to mean no trespassing...or you just cant drive in to the area?

Thanks to developement, an old farm house was donated to the local fire dept. for training and burned down.
There isnt any no trespassing signs but at the front of the driveway is the "No Unauthorized vehicles" sign.

I was thinking of parking at the base of the driveway and walking up to detect the surrounding area.

Any comments?

If just the house was donated for training, the owner most likely kept the land and you need to get permission from the owner to hunt it.

Sounds like the owner doesn't want anyone there w/o permission. Contact the F.D.--either the Fire Marshal, Chief, or their Fire Service Training Officer. Depending on the community, they might all be the same person.

I'v got a 100% YES Rate with Fire Companies.

Ask & Ye Shall Receive ;)

Just ask anyone from the Department.

The reason i question this ...I've seen the same signs in parks and places where you COULD walk...just not drive.

This particular house is in an area where malls and such are springing up like wildflowers.

Unless the property was donated to the city, it's still private property.

i say put on a bright safety vest and go for it. you're not in a vehicle right?

Call the fire dept. first they will tell you if it is City owned or private. And it may not be cleaned up enough to be safe, how long ago was it burned a few days or longer, if just a day or so it may not be done if longer it would be safer. No matter which private or city getting permission may lead to tips about other sites to hunt! GOOD LUCK!

my brother asked if we could detect a house the local fire department owns, not only did they say yeas but granted us permission to detect the sub station as well! we asked the fire chief.

Paint your vehicle bright red....no, just kidding.
Typically a sign indicating as such would mean foot traffic would be acceptable. HOWEVER, you must remember you are going into a training area. Determine the property owner, get permission and visit the Fire Dept. to find out if there are any safety issues or days that they will be actively training.

We have trained with FD's, they are a bunch of fun guys. I even setup a scenario incorporating both our agencies. They loved it and it was a valuable learning experience on both sides.

Like just about everyone else, ask the fire dept. for permission.......HH and good luck

If you ask not only you most likely get a yes answer but you will
probably get permission to drive right in. Needless to say the chance
of more tips on other places.
But not asking is just setting a bad example for others let alone
giving the sport a bad mark as to those that just march on in
and dig.
