Do you know? Thanks for viewing and any comments. DuWayne 1111 (2).webp

The American Fork and Hoe Company was formed in 1902 and operated under that name until 1949 when they changed their name to “True Temper”. Prior to that, from the early part of the 1900s, they had used “True Temper” as a brand on many of their products… both as a standalone name and in combination with the parent and divisional names for parts of their business.

Since the patent reference is for 1927, the rod (not the reel) must be later than that and I would assume before 1949. These are the original drawings for the rod patent filed in 1927 but, as I said, the patent does not cover anything to do with reels.

Certainly AF&H did make reels using the True Temper brand (I think from around 1930) but I think it would be really unlikely for the reel to not carry any branding or other identification if it was made by AF&H. I think that’s therefore not the route for tracking it down. The reel could be from anyone/anywhere and may not even date to the same age as the rod.

I think you would get better information from a specialist forum such as this one (the Old Reel Collectors Association):

Go to that link and scroll down to Good-All MFG CO. Is that your rod and reel in the picture on the far right?

Also look at Kerr. It seems similar to your style as well.
