What an awesome morning. I'm new to metal detecting with my e-trac and am getting used to the settings. I went to a local park this morning and wasn't having much luck after an hour and a half. I decided to go to a turn of the century home I had tried in my first week of detecting (no luck in the first week). I spent about 30 min and got a solid 12-43 about 7 inches. I found a wheat. I took another swipe on my grid and had one bouncing from 11-37 to 14-44. It was really strange, but of course in that range you have to dig. At about 7-8 inches I pulled out a wheat and checked the hole again. Another wheat. Checked again...another wheat then wheat, wheat, wheat, wheat, wheat, wheat, wheat, wheat, wheat, and a 1965 dime (was hoping for my first silver). 13 wheats in 30 min. An awesome start to Memorial day.
